Pietrasanta is the historic capital of the Versilia region and a hotbed of art and culture thanks to the presence of artisan laboratories and workshops working with marble, bronze, iron, ceramics, engraving and art prints.

Many important exhibitions of works by contemporary artists are organized during the summer months.

And every summer  international music festivals and ballets are staged in the Parco della Versiliana, which is close to  Torre del Lago where many of the world’s greatest operas are performed at the Puccini Opera Festival.
